Posting again since the server NoFiX thinks he's cool on is dead. I'd rather play with 30 Brazilians?

Okay, take it down. I'd rather not have it out there, since it's now undocumented.

Okay. It's down. But I think it's too much of a gem not to be out there.

You're a brilliant coder, and your work should be used.

We really do appreciate everything you do Nofix, but as bugs said, most players don't appreciate the work that goes on behind the scenes. I used to have a little tool that would track tribes restarts and time as I worked on a mod, but I found myself not enjoying the process as much when the effort was measured. I realized time spent working on Tribes projects was pleasure time, not work, and learned to enjoy it for what it is.

All of us continue to work on Tribes because we love it. This is not a new game, but the possibilities are endless. We do this because we enjoy pushing ourselves by pushing the engine and not for notoriety or some e-penis enhancement. If it happens, it's just icing on the cake. Part of the satisfaction of making something that works and works well is seeing others enjoy it. Unfortunately it's harder to see people enjoying what you make when you're making script additions to the engine. You and I code for personal enjoyment and if others can benefit and enjoy what is created it's a bonus. Yes it's a good feeling, but not the driving force.

NoFix, please put the download back up. Include a small readme.txt with a short example and disclaimer: No support, don't ask. Simple and effective. We really do appreciate the tools you make. Please don't get discouraged. :cat:

I have a couple fixes, and I found out last night that remotes aren't working. When I have that sorted, I will rehost - maybe.

I didn't download despite the fact that I read it, because I never thought that it would disappear, and figured I could download it later when I wasn't busy.

Update. I have remote attachments working. I just need to clean up the old code, clean up the new code a bit, then I need to change DoSFix plugin slightly to allow remote attachments to work in place of the old DoSFix remoteFilter functionality. The idea being that instead of using remotefilter, we'll use remote attachments + halts for the same effect.

Is the only reason worth keeping it for detecting the user calling the unknown? I only ask because I can filter unknowns at the hardcode.

ROFL, I don't know what you mean by "who stepped", but I find that statement hilarious regardless.

Attachment code is complete. DoSFix still needs a slight upgrade to remove the remote filter, and some functionality to kill remote spam.

I've almost finished converting all "The Community" code over to attachments. It's almost, if not all 100% attachment-based, aka plug-and-play, with no existing script modification. Not that anyone cares, I just find it to be an incredibly useful tool.
