It somewhy stops working (XP send/don't send error) when you click on the info button to view info about a server.
Why would it crash THERE?

It's usually between missions for me... I think the objective screen is buggy, or maybe it doesn't like all of the mission description files with syntax errors in them...

1.11 always crashed during battle for me... Especially when the particular battle was of strategic importants to the mission... And it also locked up sometimes making ending the task and starting a new task difficult and time intensive.

1.40 only crashes between missions, meaning I can reconnect immediately and at the beginning of the mission... Sometimes preventing me from rushing as fast as my enemies, or switching my team at the beginning of a mission, but it's definitely better than crashing during gameplay. Also, it helps to even the teams sometimes.

Neither have ever crashed for me, save for when I make some stupid bulldoggy doo error in my code.

You probably shouldn't do that.

What kind of computer do you have?

Suggestions:
List what video card you are using and which driver version.
List what audio you are using and what driver version (less likely.)
It could be some thing else in addition to these as well.

As I recall... hardware/software mixes of certain types caused certain anomalous events for tribers when newer tech was introduced.

Interesting.
I have never had Tribes crash on me ever.
Not once, ever.
I am not even joking.
6+ years of daily play on 3 different computers, 5 different video cards, never crashed once.
Of course... then I stopped playing Tribes... because I am a total goober.

Yeah Tribes works steadily always on my computer when I run with my OpenGL and other configs.
No reason to randomly crash.

I don't believe I've ever used nVidia. It's always been either an ATI card or integrated Intel chips. Always had crashes in 1.0-1.31 during the game (especially when playing in software mode or editing in openGL). Always had crashes in 1.40.655 during mission change, but never during gameplay nor editor mode.

I have the nvidia tnt2(I know, old), and 1.40 crashes when refreshing the server list or mission change, but it's pretty random. With 1.30 it crashes whenever I look up with the flag, and when I use the Shocking Grasp weapon (but only on the br server. Works fine in Land of Oz).

I've never used ATI, save for on the school budget computers.
Never experienced any trouble with nVidia, and Intel's integrated chips are just what you'd expect of an integrated chip - Underpowered.

Now that I think of it, I DO crash from time to time because of lightningdatas...

Do you both play in Software mode?

Last time I checked, looking up at the flag or getting zapped with an ELF will often crash Software players, while never effecting OpenGL players.
