Open modding and a simple server is the main reason Tribes 1 is still around. Sure you can 'mod' Tribes 2 and Vengeance, but the original is much simpler.

We have plenty of coding experience, and assets are easier than ever (I can do art and sound).

If midair ends up not doing mods, then why don't we come together as a community and build our own game in Unreal Engine 4. Its easy to use, even for non coders. We can replicate much of Tribes 1's code and features. We can make Annihilation, make it free for the community, and sell it for $9.99 to the public or whatever so Plasmatic and the team leads can make it their career.

At least think about it. People think becoming a game developer is too difficult, but it really isn't. Several people here have all the tools.
