Honestly, it's been in development since early 2012 and only has 2 'active' developers. Updates have been sparse. He's aiming for the game to be used more as a tool for others to create their own mod/game with. I've more or less labeled it as vaporware but we'll see. Maybe they've done a ton of work since their last update. I've lost hope in all community fps-z games as of late.

Sure, but you sorta need a decent-sized playerbase to get anything rolling. Even the more 'serious' projects like Project Z won't have much of a playerbase at launch. Hell, despite some fairly serious attempts no one really did anything with Tribes: Ascend's community SDK.

I'm all for modding. I support the crap out of it. I'm not expecting anyone to really do anything with Freefall though.
